Biggar Writers' Group

Meets every other Monday in the Municipal Hall in Biggar.
 

Tom Bryan

Tom Bryan was born in Canada in 1950, but has been long resident in Scotland, his mother’s country. He is a widely published and broadcast poet, fiction and non-fiction writer.

William-John Deerin

William-John Deerin has lived in Lanarkshire most of his life. His first two poems were published in the Asphalt Garden on a double spread next to a story by James Kelman.

Aline Dobbie

Aline Dobbie is of Scottish ancestry and was born in India to parents serving in the Indian army. She came home to be educated in Scotland.

Dolphinton Women Writers

Meet in members' houses, fortnightly, for chat, writing and reading out work completed in the previous fortnight.
 

Margaret Dunlop

Margaret, perhaps better known locally by her married name Margaret Wiener has lived in South Lanarkshire for around 40 years.

Vicki Feaver

Vicki Feaver moved to Lanarkshire from West Sussex where she was a professor at Chichester University. She now lives in Dunsyre. with her husband and dog.

Matthew Fitt

Matthew was the second holder of the Brownsbank Fellowship and writer-in-residence in Greater Pollock in Glasgow.

Fiona Gibson

Fiona Gibson writes for many publications including the Observer, Red magazine and the Sunday Herald, where she has contributed a weekly column for the past four years.

The Group holds events and organises activities for all ages and walks of life throughout the year.
